Leadership

 The Association was formed to carry on advocacy activities on behalf of patients and the orthopaedic profession to ensure the highest quality of musculoskeletal care and access to specialty care. The Association is active at both the national and state levels. 

Laws and regulations touch every aspect of an orthopaedic practice. As a result, orthopaedic surgeons have no choice but to engage in the public policy process to ensure that Maine patients receive the best musculoskeletal care possible. 

 Our members can address issues that affect orthopaedic surgeons and their patients through service in AAOS Councils and Committees, as well as in state, regional, and specialty societies.
